Apostle Sergio Enríquez.
Our meetings and our life is not a religion; being a Christian represents much more, it represents that each one of us can be a change factor where we are. I say this because we cannot be static or seated Christians, we must fulfill our call in Christ. Today I want to talk about a topic that I have titled as the transformations before the transformation. According to the Bible, all of us will be transformed one day, but we must know that there are many transformations described in the Bible. Some of these are complex because they involve all the members of the church, other transformations refer to each person, therefore I consider them easier to happen. But let’s see one transformation that each of us need in order to start the whole process; Romans 12:2(NKJV) says: And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Now, talking about the collective transformation, Hebrews 11:40(NKJV) says: God having provided something better for us, that they should not be made perfect apart from us.
In God’s kingdom, the old heroes of faith are waiting for us to be made perfect; this means that we all must finish our race and then the final transformation will take place. For example brethren, as your pastor, if I don’t progress you will not progress either, therefore it is my responsibility to seek the Lord and go before you. In the same way, if you don’t walk correctly or if you go astray, I cannot go forward either, I need to go where you are and help you to walk with the whole congregation.
I Corinthians 15:51(NKJV) Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed (transformed).
Brethren, this verse shows us that some can achieve the life that is to come without seeing death, but whether we die or remain alive, we all will be transformed. Now let’s see some of the transformations that will happen before the final transformation.
Isaiah 29:17(NKJV) Is it not yet a very little while till Lebanon shall be turned into a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be esteemed as a forest?
Brethren, when you received Christ in your heart you were also transformed from a barren land into a fruitful field, that is, by His sacrifice. For this reason I say that the hand of the Lord is powerful to change our nature and transform our lives. Right now, all of us are being transformed from useless to useful. Take heed brethren and see that you are a fertile land, and that you also have a good seed planted in your heart. But now, I want to highlight the fact that your final state is to be a king with the Lord, that is, to reign with the King of kings and Lord of lords. The Lord will give you lordship in His eternal kingdom, but this transformation requires from us to renounce to our actual state. For example, in my case, the Lord transformed my life from a desert into a fruitful field, and then after some years, the Lord asked for my fruitful field and changed into a forest (ministry). In other words brethren, if the Lord asks you for something, you must obey and give it to Him; then He will see that you are ready to be transformed and sent into the next stage.
Isaiah 61:3(NKJV) To console those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.
Brethren, before the eyes of the Lord we are considered as trees of righteousness. Therefore when we come and gather as one, we are like a forest, like the planting of the Lord. Now, notice that part of the transformation, is that the Lord will bring upon His people a garment of praise. In fact, the verse shown above says that God will change the spirit of heaviness for a garment of praise. If we let this garment of praise come upon us, we will worship the Lord in new ways, that is, with new understanding; and if this happens we will enter His Presence easier.
Finally brethren, today I want to minister the transformation that comes from the Lord. But keep in mind that if you want to achieve the transformation, you must give back to God whatever He asks for. Perhaps He will ask some of you to give back a spiritual privilege; but don’t fear, He always wants to bless us in a greater way than before.
