The new covenant

Apostle Sergio Enríquez.

I would like to summarize some of the last months’ topics given by Apostol which the Lord has let us tie since we are definitely living the end of the times.

Matthew 21:43 (NASB) 43 Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people, producing the fruit of it.

The Lord came before Israel first. He said, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” But they rejected Him and the kingdom was taken away from them. Since Israel did not produce fruit when they received the kingdom, it was taken away from them and it was given to a nation that would produce fruit. That nation is us, the Holy Nation, the children of God who will produce fruit.

Romans 11:19-21 (NASB) 19 You will say then, “Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in.” 20 Quite right, they were broken off for their unbelief, but you stand by your faith. Do not be conceited, but fear; 21 for if God did not spare the natural branches, He will not spare you, either.

Apostle Paul is telling the Gentiles, “If the kingdom was taken away from Israel because they did not produce any fruit then do not be conceited because the kingdom could be taken away from you.” We have an urgent need of giving fruit.

Matthew 13:23 (NASB) 23 And the one on whom seed was sown on the good soil, this is the man who hears the word and understands it; who indeed bears fruit and brings forth, some a hundredfold, some sixty, and some thirty.”

The Lord is explaining the parable of the sower. “The one who hears the word and understands it; who indeed bears fruit.”If we do not bear fruit, the kingdom of God would be taken away from us. How can we give fruit? We first have to hear the word but also understand it. We have to ask the Lord to open up our minds every time we hear a preaching in order to produce fruit, otherwise the kingdom will be taken away from us. The Lord will minister our minds.

2 Peter 3:1-2(NASB) 3 This is now, beloved, the second letter I am writing to you in which I am stirring up your sincere mind by way of reminder, 2 that you should remember the words spoken beforehand by the holy prophets and the commandment of the Lord and Savior spoken by your apostles.

Our mind must be stirred up in order to understand the word so that we can produce fruit.

Ezekiel 9:3-4(NASB) 3 Then the glory of the God of Israel went up from the cherub on which it had been, to the threshold of the temple. And He called to the man clothed in linen at whose loins was the writing case. 4 The Lord said to him, “Go through the midst of the city, even through the midst of Jerusalem, and put a mark on the foreheads of the men who sigh and groan over all the abominations which are being committed in its midst.”

By marking the foreheads of the men they were marking their minds in order to save them from destruction and this was done by the scribes who represent the teachers. The way God will minister our minds has to do with the New Covenant.

Hebrews 8:10(NASB) “For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel. After those days, says the Lord: I will put My Laws into their minds, And I will write them on their hearts. And I will be their God, And they shall be My people.

There are four points in the New Covenant to which we have access thanks to the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ. The New Covenant has four main points: “I will put My Laws into their minds, I will write them on their hearts, I will be their God and They shall be My People.”

The Tabernacle of Moses has three areas: The Atrium, the Holy Place and the Holy of Holies. And this represents our comprehensive being. The Holy of Holies represents our spirit, the Holy Place represents our soul and the Atrium represents our body. 1 Thessalonians 5:23 says that our comprehensive being is formed by these parts. There were veils in between those three areas. I have considered that the veil between the Atrium and the Holy Place could be the mind, and the veil between the Holy of Holies and the Holy Place could be the understanding. The veil between the Atrium and the Holy Place was supported by five pillars which could represent the five senses that let our inner being connect with our external being. And the second veil was supported by four pillars. And the word “understanding” in the Bible talks about four things, for example, the eyes, the spiritual eyes. The understanding has eyes, loins, desires. Hebrews 8:10 says: “I will put my Laws into their minds.”And this is not referring to the natural mind, it is talking about the understanding. So He is ministering our understanding. The Holy Supper is a celebration of the New Covenant which was enabled when the Lord Jesus Christ was sacrificed for us. The New Covenant means that the Law of the Lord will be in our understanding, if we understand we will give fruit, and if we give fruit the kingdom will not be taken away from us. Instead of that, we will receive the award corresponding to our fruit. The Holy Supper ministers our understanding. “I will put my Laws into their minds.”

Romans 7:22-24(NASB) 22 For I joyfully concur with the Law of God in the inner man, 23 but I see a different Law in the members of my body, waging war against the Law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin which is in my members. 24 Wretched man that I am! Who will set me free from the body of this death?

When the Law of God remains in the physical mind, in the first veil, the law of sin that operates in the members of the body is stronger and it can defeat us. But according to New Covenant, “I will put my Laws into their minds,”He will put his Laws into their understanding because once His Laws are in there, the law of sin will not defeat them anymore. If the Laws of God remain in the natural mind, we will not be able to produce fruit. And that is the New Covenant and we will celebrate it this evening with the Holy Supper.

The Lord wants to impregnate His Laws into our understanding in a way that nobody would be able to remove them so that we can produce fruit. And that is what we will receive this evening when we come to the Lord’s Table, He will impregnate His Laws into our understanding.
