Apostle Sergio Enríquez.
Salvation comes from God through Abraham, because He is the father of faith; he was chosen in Genesis 12, but in the previous chapter Nimrod deviated and build the tower of Babel after this rebellion the Lord chose Abraham and gave him a promise to be a father of multitude, his offspring will reach us; one of the things Abraham received was the promise that his children will practice the righteousness.
Matthew 6:33 (ESV)But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
When we talk about the spiritual stature we have to reach, sometimes we do not like it but when all the blessings we will receive we love it but what we must seek is the kingdom of God and His righteousness; but it is His kingdom and His righteousness, now well there are different types of righteousness; because some of us could be seeking justice, human justice or the social justice.
Philippians 3:9 (ESV)and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith —
In this verse we read how we interpret righteousness, the one that comes from God, and the one that comes from religiosity, etc., we must have the one that is by faith from Christ, based on faith; this verse continues the idea of Matthew 6:33; we are Christians not by following all laws but we follow the law because we are good Christians, good citizens, we have to believe in God, for example He said He was going to come back, we must believe it.
James 2:23 (ESV)and the Scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness” — and he was called a friend of God.
If we are offspring from Abraham, we must believe it and when we believe this we will be practicing the divine righteousness, not human justice, I will believe in God and He will take into account and we will be free, sometimes we hear an inner-voice and we know that this voice comes from God, this is practicing the righteousness. There is nothing impossible to God, and if we are going through trouble maybe is because the Lord wants to increase our faith.
2 Peter 3:13 (ESV)But according to his promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousnessdwells.
In this verse we read about righteousness that is not human, comes from heavens because only God is the fair judge; we can find it at Mount Zion, Hebrews 12:3, where we find His righteousness the land of the living, even if we are in this world but we are at the land of the living (John 17:11) by faith we have enter the land of the living.
2 Peter 2:5 (ESV)if he did not spare the ancient world, but preserved Noah, a herald of righteousness, with seven others, when he brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly…
Noah was considered a herald of righteousness therefore he was kept safe from the destruction of the world (Hebrews 11:7) he was preaching about God’s righteousness and he was called friend of God.
Hebrews 12:11 (ESV) For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peacefulfruit of righteousnessto those who have been trained by it.
The peaceful fruit of righteousness comes from discipline, we have to love the discipline because it shows how loved we are by God; we could be disciplined by al illness, going through financial trouble, or maybe someone we love is going through illnesses, it is because the Lord shows us how to love His righteousness. Our duty as sons an daughters of God is to seek His righteousness. Amen.
