The depraved generation

Apostle Sergio Enríquez.

We all have to leave something in our way through this world, we must leave a legacy and one is another generation; but we must give something to our children and it has to be something good, if we check how the population has been growing especially in the past 100 years. Today we see a change in society now we see couples adopting pets and have pet-children because they feel better with an animal rather than with a kid.

Therefore, as believing families we have to be very careful especially in the birth control plan we use; in Spanish the word to say depraved is “degenerado” which means without generation; if we as an older generation do not make an impact in the future generations they will be without generation; because it is our choice to bless our future generations as Jacob did that he blessed up to his fourth generation.

What we do must be under the Holy Spirit in order to have a family according to God, we must follow God, with Jesus among us and the Holy Spirit as a guide.

Deuteronomy 32:20 (ESV) And he said, ‘I will hide my face from them; I will see what their end will be, For they are a perverse generation, children in whom is no faithfulness.

We have to minister faith and loyalty to our future generations; loyalty is seen in many ways for example to make public defects that our spouse or children have, being loyal is surpassing defects for love.

Proverbs 19:26 (ESV)He who does violence to his father and chases away his mother is a son who brings shame and reproach.

A depraved son or daughter is the one who treats badly his or her parents, in this world we see that most of the people do not honor their parents and this situation is not about how good parents they were is to treat them well no matter what. Some of this depravation was send by the media because we watch on tv many tv shows and even cartoons that show disrespect for parents and what this will teach is a depraved generation.

Romans 1:28 (ESV) And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done.

The Bible lets us see many depravations:

  • Sexual
  • Spoken
  • Religious
  • Mental
  • Priestly
  • Royal
  • Legal

All world’s population is given to a depraved mind and that makes it so common that we do not take it as a depraved.

SPOKEN DEPRAVATION

Proverbs 4:24 (ESV)Put away from you crooked speech, and put devious talk far from you.

Proverbs 6:12 (ESV)A worthless person, a wicked man, goes about with crooked speech,

Numbers 14:27 (ESV)“How long shall this wicked congregation grumble against me? I have heard the grumblings of the people of Israel, which they grumble against me.

When we read these verses, we see that the one who speaks and do not give purpose to the Lord is a depraved man or woman and this is what they leave to their generations, therefore, we have to be careful in what we speak maybe we speak against the Lord’s will and what we show to our family; what do we stamp in our children’s heart when we are living testing time.

SEXUAL DEPRAVATION

We read in the Bible many verses regarding this topic:

Leviticus 18:17 (ESV)You shall not uncover the nakedness of a woman and of her daughter, and you shall not take her son’s daughter or her daughter’s daughter to uncover her nakedness; they are relatives; it is depravity.

In this verse is describes incest if someone had suffered this situation, he or she has to be liberated from this trauma, most of the times this violation is committed by someone from the family.

Leviticus 18:23 (ESV)And you shall not lie with any animal and so make yourself unclean with it, neither shall any woman give herself to an animal to lie with it: it is perversion.

Leviticus 19:29 (ESV)“Do not profane your daughter by making her a prostitute, lest the land fall into prostitution and the land become full of depravity.

Leviticus 20:12 (ESV)If a man lies with his daughter-in-law, both of them shall surely be put to death; they have committed perversion; their blood is upon them.

Leviticus 20:14 (ESV)If a man takes a woman and her mother also, it is depravity; he and they shall be burned with fire, that there may be no depravity among you.

Judges 20:6 (ESV)So I took hold of my concubine and cut her in pieces and sent her throughout all the country of the inheritance of Israel, for they have committed abomination and outrage in Israel.

Judges 19:22 (ESV)As they were making their hearts merry, behold, the men of the city, worthless fellows, surrounded the house, beating on the door. And they said to the old man, the master of the house, “Bring out the man who came into your house, that we may know him.”

It is impressive how we are living this kind of depravation among society and the world wants us to see it normal, but today is the day we stand and bless our generation so we have a generation that belongs to God. Amen.
