The armor of God. (2) The knowledge and integrity. (3) Conviction and faith.
…The Winter is over, spring has just come, it is time to bless, new harvest, time of love, but also time of war. We get excited in the spirit of knowing of time of blessing, new harvest, love, etc. It is not the same to start a war in spring than in winter. Spring favors the circumstances of war (1 Chronicles 20:1) And it came to pass, that after the year was expired, at the time that kings go out to battle, Joab led forth the power of the army, and wasted the country of the children of Ammon, and came and besieged Rabbah. But Davidtarried at Jerusalem. And Joab smote Rabbah, and destroyed it. We are kings and priests and in these times we must go to war.
Let me tell you that there is no time for resting, or taking a nap, or taking a break. If you are a King you have to wake up in order to go to war. The Lord´s word says very clearly that our battles are not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against the powers, against governors, against the spiritual forces in the heavens (Ephesians 6:12)
We need to wear war clothes and this is related with another war one we do not pay enough attention. Paul the apostle said that there is an inner war between my body and my mind (Romans 7:15) I do not understand what I do. I do not do the things that I want to do. Instead, I do the things that I hate.
Here is a difference before receiving Jesus Christ and to guidance of the Holy Spirit because who guides and convinces us to justice, judgement or of sin. Before that everything is normal because we cannot see the difference between evil and good, but Paul tries to s say is that when the Holy Spirit is inside as product of repetance, the mind is renewed and there is when we are conscious of what is evil or good, but it does not stop there because after that Paul says in (2 Timothy 4:7) I have ade a good fight, I have come to the end of my journey, I have kept the faith. Paul conquered in name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Romans also says that before we were used to give our members to sin, now is time to give it to our Lord. This is way we must change or mind, repetance (metanoeo) as living sacrifice pure and holy and this meas to change our way of thinking. After that we are enabled to wear God´s armor, this means the belt, breastplate, helmet, shield, sword, and footwear of the gospel running.
Apresto is a term used when talking about war, it means a full equipment, integrity. It also means that the war armor is complete, nothing is missing. There are three laws in order to go to war. (1)
To have the conviction of what part of the battle field you should go. David knew that first he had to give the supplies such as cheese and wine, then he ran to take his part in the battle field. So here are the laws that every warrior must follow in times of war.
- DO NOT FEAR
(Deuteronomy 20:1) When thou goest out to battle against thine enemies, and seest horses, and chariots, and a people more than thou, be not afraid of them: for the LORD thy God is with thee, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt. We must not fear or be a coward, we must not desperate or be a fear hunting prey. This is the first enemy of war. In order to defeat fear, we must do it with the true and perfect love who is Jesus Christ. Having him in our heart, home, church, daily life, etc.,
In the book of Nehemiah the enemies of Israel began to make fun against them. If you have faced this in your work, relatives, or friends, the fear is provoked in your heart, so the Lord has to do as He did to Abraham, He told him to get out of the tent to see the stars from heaven. God wants us to be a good receptor of promises, to become a brave and enable soldier, He requests us to get out of our tent, out of our complexed, out of the incorrect coverage in order to remind us the promises, or to tell us new promises. Just as Abraham was asked to count the stars from heaven, many times we are in automatic because we take for granted that there are new promises every morning.
Reject the fear from church, home, or the heart. You are becoming a general. The Lord has hidden all these things from wisdom and from the intelectual and He has given this to the little ones, to you. (Joshua 1:9) Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. We have been told to be courageous and brave more than once because the Lord wants us to have it very clearly; it is an order from God to our lives, it is not a request or option; it is an order that we must accomplish because He knows what He has seen in us.
The same happened to Gedeon he was the last to know that he was brave and strong. He asked for proves like a spoil kid in order to obey God´s orders, and Him, in His mercy did what Gedeon wishes God to do
- LISTEN TO ADVICES
(Deuteronomy 20:2-4) And it shall be, when ye are come night unto the battle, that the priest shall approach and speak unto the people,
And shall say unto them, Hear, O Israel, ye approach this day unto battle against your enemies: let not your hearts faint, fear not, and do not tremble, neither be ye terrified because of them; For the LORD your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you. Listen to advices. Moses was counceling, advicing,
solving problems, guiding, finding solutions, but he did not notice that at the end he could get tired as Martha afflicted, tired. Moses hear his father -in-law and found people who could help him. Moses, in the wisdom of God, delegated work.
To serve the Lord is important, but to sit and hear the gospel is more important. Tobar in Hebrew means to advice the people, which is the priest´s task. This is very closed related to authority and spiritual fatherhood. It is to expose the different circumstances in order to be able to listen to advices. At the end, we do not fight the battles because our Lord is who does it He has not loose any battle, we have won all the battles in advance, but we must believe it, we must have faith.
(Proverbs 11:14) Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety. So, to whom you pay attention in order to listen and advice? Are you paying attention to your co-workers, college partners, unconverted people who do not know Jesus Christ? Or do you listen to those tv programs. The Lord has given us a spiritual father, but he cannot attend everybody that is why he has
Looked for ministerial aids such as pastors, deacons, coordinators, ancients so you can be hear and have an advice.
(Proverbs 20:18)The wicked worketh a deceitful work: but to him that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward. To someone who does not follow advices, it is very posible to loose war. We need God´s advice and we have the Access to get His advice. All wars use deceat. The fact that you give your ears to someone is very important,
- OBEY THE CALL
Deuteronomy (20: 5-8) TO HAVE A HOUSE: And the officers shall speak unto the people, saying, What man is there that hath built a new house, and hath not dedicated it? let him go and return to his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man dedicate it. FRUITS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT:
6And what man is he that hath planted a vineyard, and hath not yet eaten of it? let him also go and return unto his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man eat of it. COMMITMENT: 7And what man is there that hath betrothed a wife, and hath not taken her? let him go and return unto his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man take her. COURAGEOUS AND BRAVE:
8And the officers shall speak further unto the people, and they shall say, What man is there that is fearful and fainthearted? let him go and return unto his house, lest his brethren’s heart faint as well as his heart. All these were limitations or rules for not going to war.
Now, who are the ones who must go to war? (1) The ones who have a ministry house where you are identified, fed, with a spiritual family, with a coverage, where you give your offerings and tieth, where you recognize doctrine advices, therefore, you are called to war because you give the fruits of the Holy Spirit. (2) Those who are
compromised are called to war. Those who have proposed not to be contaminated. Those who make a commitmet to love God and those who are courageous and brave. (3) The ones who obey the call… “wake up soldiers and call the brave ones. (4) The ones who follow instructions in order to go to war.
(Deuteronomy 20: 10 and 12) When thou comest night unto a city to fight against it, then proclaim peace unto it. And if it will make no peace with thee, but will make war against thee, then thou shalt besiege it. Israel is the figure of the church. This is similar to what Jesus told to His disciples. He told them to proclaim peace for the inhabitants of the house they enter, and if there was a son of peace they should proclaim peace to repose there, but if not, that peace will return to them and they must shake off the dust from their sandals and get out of that house and continue walking,
When talking about war, enemies are surrounded. Cities are also surrounded in order to cut supplies, water, or the entrance to the city. This means that we must cut/end with that kind of friendship that doesn´t edify ourselves or those who harm you. Everything must die from our heart and soul, we must die completely. (Deuteronomy 20:16-18) But of the cities of these people, which the LORD thy God doth give thee for an inheritance, thou shalt save alive nothing that breatheth:
17But thou shalt utterly destroy them; namely, the Hittites, and the Amorites, the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites; as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee: 18That they teach you not to do after all their abominations, which they have done unto their gods; so should ye sin against the LORD your God.
Amonites vanity, eminence
Canaanites mercanchifle, merchandise
Perizzites without limits, to live
Hivites complexed, cave, in sn open habitant field
Jebusites humiliated, trampled
