Preaching to God’s people is a great privilege that I received from my spiritual father, and today I am very thankful for this time. Now let me ask you a question: How long do you think you will live on this earth? In case you think that you will live twenty years more, I will say that probably you will suffer the period of great tribulation; I say this because the coming of the Lord is near.
Matthew 20:1-2(NKJV) For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire laborers for his vineyard. Now when he had agreed with the laborers for a denarius a day, he sent them into his vineyard.
Sometimes I think about this parable as the Lord calling His children at different ages; perhaps the Lord called you when you were still young, but others were called when old. The good news is that God chose us because He has a plan for His children, and whether we came to His vineyard in the first or in the last turn, the Lord has a reward for us.
Matthew 20:8(NKJV) So when evening had come, the owner of the vineyard said to his steward, call the laborers and give them their wages, beginning with the last to the first.
In this time, the Lord is expecting from His servants to work with all they have, that is, with all their hearts and strength. The Lord seeks those servants who are willing to work for love, servants filled with His Holy Spirit.
Mark 13:32-33(NKJV) But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is.
Brethren, the signs show that the coming of the Lord is about to happen, therefore, those who are thinking to go back to Egypt are putting their souls at great risk. The word of God clearly says: Take heed, watch and pray.
Mark 13:34-35It is like a man going to a far country, who left his house and gave authority to his servants, and to each his work, and commanded the doorkeeper to watch. Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming- in the evening, at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning– Therefore brethren, this is not a time to sleep or go back to the world (Egypt); we have no time left and we do not know the exact hour in which the Lord will come; He might come tonight or tomorrow.
Let’s take a look to what the word servant means: ServantG1401(doulos); from G1210; slave, slavery, serve, servant.
There is a promise for those servants who serve for love, not for a salary. According to the bible, we can recognize two types of slavery; slavery in Christ which leads us to do good things, and the slavery that comes from the world which drowns people in sins, evil passions and darkness. ——-I Corinthians 3:3(NKJV) says: for you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving like mere men? This is a time in which we must get rid of all kind of evil habits and customs, Ephesians 4:31says: Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice.
There are some things that the Lord abhors, these are attitudes that should never be in a Christian; Proverbs 21:4(NKJV) says: A haughty look, a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked are sin. Romans 1:18says: For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness. As Christians, we are called to live in truth, and this means to accept our mistakes and sins whenever we commit them. God wants to restore our lives, He wants to break spiritual chains and give us freedom from all kind of slavery.
Romans 1:27-28(NKJV) Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting.
When someone decides to follow the passions and riches of this world, he becomes God’s enemy. But today we can choose to deny ourselves and follow Christ; we are not being forced to live according to our own desires. On the other hand, the bible describes those who live according to the flesh, Romans 1:29says: being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers.
Now notice that we will live a godly life if we are filled with the Holy Spirit, otherwise we will be filled with our own passions. For example, when we are attacked, it is very easy to fight back, but according to the bible, it is better to let the Lord be our Defender. It is not a good idea to interrupt God’s processes, if we do so, a process could take more time than expected.
Talking about a servant, let me ask you: What does a slave of the Lord want to do?—A slave will always live for his master. All the days of his life, his activities will be related to what the Lord desires. The next passage describes how a servant of the Lord desires to be under His shadow, that is, under His authority; Job 7:2(NKJV) says: Like a servant who earnestly desires the shade, and like a hired man who eagerly looks for his wages. The Lord is our shadow and He wants us to take refuge under His wings.
John 8:35(NKJV) And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. When Israel celebrated the Feast of Jubilee, all the slaves were set free except those who loved their masters and wanted to serve them forever; in those cases, they were marked in their ear and became as a son of the lord of that house. In the same way, the Lord is calling us today to live forever in His house, and to serve as a beloved son. Psalms 63:7Because You have been my help, therefore in the shadowof Your wings I will rejoice. God is our fortress and in the shadow of His wings we find healing. In the New Testament, we see how the shadow represented healing; Acts 5:15says: so that they brought the sick out into the streets and laid them on beds and couches, that at least the shadow of Peter passing by might fall on some of them.
Numbers 14:9(NKJV) Only do not rebel against the Lord, nor fear the people of the land, for they are our bread; their protection (shadow) has departed from them, and the Lord is with us. Do not fear them. Nowadays, many people are anxious because of violence, but we are not as those who have no hope, we trust in the Lord and His protection for us and our families. Psalms 17:8says: Keep me as the apple of Your eye; Hide me under the shadow of Your wings. At the shadow of the Lord we find His fatherhood, and His coverage will prosper our souls, that is, He will bring the blessings we need as His children.
In conclusion brethren, we expect to live as the word of God says in the book of Revelation 22:3,6And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him. Then he said to me, “These words are faithful and true.” And the Lord God of the holy prophets sent His angel to show His servants the things which must shortly take place.
